Trail Information

Trail Guidelines

The Nature Center has nearly 2 miles of mulched trails. The terrain includes both gentle rolling hills and flat areas. The distance around the perimeter trails is 9 tenths of a mile. There are no trash receptacles around the property so please carry out all refuse. Also, there are benches and picnic table throughout the trails.

Hours

Trails are open 8am to Dusk, except for Holiday. The Nature Center is closed on Holidays.

Pets

Pets are not allowed at the Nature Center due to our enclosed wildlife and other animals that roam freely on the property, along with use of the property for science programs.

Fees

  • Casual visitor: there is no trail fee for individuals or groups less than 10 people. However, we do appreciate donations to continue maintenance of the trails and conservation efforts.

  • Groups of 10 people or more:

    • If you are visiting us with an organized group with 10 or more people, we require that you join a guided program by emailing Cass at carsenault@bloomfield.org .

Restrooms

Restrooms are available at the Visitor Center.

Handicap Access

There are no paved trails. However, most of the trails are hard-packed so that wheelchairs and strollers can operate when conditions are dry. A hard-packed stone trail leads from the Visitor Center to the pond dock.
