Step into a world of quiet magic within the Enchanted Forest, a guided or self-guided forest walk filled with wonder at every turn. As you wander beneath the trees, keep your eyes open for tiny, hidden homes tucked into stumps, nestled among roots, and peeking out from mossy corners. Each one is thoughtfully crafted, hinting at the secret lives of fairies and gnomes who may be just out of sight.
This gentle, immersive experience invites explorers of all ages to slow down, look closely, and let their imaginations lead the way. Whether you’re spotting a miniature doorway, discovering a hidden village, or simply enjoying the peaceful beauty of the forest, the walk offers a sense of curiosity, charm, and quiet enchantment.
Perfect for families, nature lovers, and anyone who believes in a little magic, the Enchanted Forest is a place where small wonders create lasting memories.
Fairy and Gnome Village Houses will remain displayed through May 10 for your casual visit.

Enchanted Fairy House & Gnome Home Build
A whimsical program where you can unleash your creativity and craft charming fairy houses and gnome homes using only natural materials! Dive into a world where pine cones become rooftops, pebbles transform into pathways, and twigs weave enchanting walls.
Enchanted Wand Workshop and Hike
Let your imagination soar as you design magical wands fit for the forest's most delightful inhabitants! We will prepare sticks for you to get started and will have glue guns available for everyone to use. When we are done, we will walk with our new wands through the Forest.

All ages are welcome to enjoy Enchanted Forest! We can’t wait for your imagination to come alive as you enter the realm of Forest Fairies and Gnomes.

While costumes are not required, they are always welcome. Don your fairy wings and blend in with the Fae Folk if you desire.
(Costume theme and style should be appropriate for all ages)

No. Pets are not allowed onsite at Johnson Nature Center (even if in costume).

The trail surface is dirt and wood chips. We recommend strollers designed for uneven terrain if you need to bring one..

The event takes place throughout the JNC, so light hiking will be required. The trail is unpaved and made up of dirt and wood chips, there are also some moderate inclines and declines. Good walking shoes or boots are suggested.
